Immediate Opening Chief Broadcast Engineer Daily news hour, Democracy Now!, seeks full-time Chief Broadcast Engineer to manage audio and video technical operations for a fast paced live TV/Radio/Internet show. Responsibilities: * Operate and maintain HD studio and control room, including master control, interconnects, ingest, newsroom automation, post-production, broadcast IT, intercom and aspects of physical plant. * Oversee all technical aspects of the one-hour daily broadcast including fiber inbound and outbound transmissions, tape and server records and troubleshooting problems that arise. * Monitor and assure signal quality. * Manage technical staff. * Design, procure and implement new A/V and broadcast IT systems as needed. * Provide engineering support to production team and key broadcast affiliates as needed. * Fill in production positions as needed. * Manage inventory, service contracts and vendor relations. * Maintain comprehensive documentation and disaster recovery strategy. This is a full-time New York City based position with generous benefits. Call time is 6am. Salary based on experience.
