The Broadcast Design Engineer possesses at least 5-10 years of experience in the design of Broadcast technical facilities. This position requires a strong working knowledge of Broadcast Industry technical trends and extensive experience in developing technical solutions and conceptual engineering design specifications in response to customer systems requirements. The Broadcast Design Engineer manages large scale Broadcast Projects or leads efforts on major Project subsystems. This position manages budgets, timelines, and members of his/her project engineering team in order to successfully execute the overall project plan. This position has responsibilities that include creating equipment lists; floor plans; rack and console elevations; conceptual and detailed audio, video, and control diagrams; patch panel and custom I/O panel layouts for large scale technical systems. In addition this position will be charged with creating test plans and test systems. The Broadcast Design Engineer will coordinate with the technical services implementation and inventory control department to assure proper scheduling & integration of these systems. The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Broadcast Design Engineer is expected to have the ability to effectively communicate with both internal managers as well as customer technical contacts. Requirements Undergraduate degree in Broadcast Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent industry training and experience is required. Skills: Knowledge of Autocad or Vidcad, MS Word and Excel is required. The Sr. Broadcast Design Engineer shall possess a mastery of television broadcast production and communications principals. Significant experience with studio design and installation, especially pertaining to Standard Digital and High-Definition Television is essential.
