WSYX/WTTE in Columbus, Ohio is looking for a creative photojournalist.
Job Responsibilities: Highly skilled and creative news photographer needed to produce, shoot and edit stories under deadline pressure. This position requires maintaining equipment and vehicles as assigned by Chief Photographer. Ensures sound and picture quality of all stories shot. Works alone or with a reporter or field producer to gather facts, shoot and edit the story for air. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Must be proficient in the use of state of the art equipment and in the operation of ENG microwave trucks and portable microwave equipment. Must be able to shoot video in all types of settings and edit under deadline. Non-linear editing experience is required. Able to lift equipment as needed and have dexterity and sight to operate television equipment. Qualified applicants must have valid driver's license and good driving record. Two years experience required.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination of techniques and methods.
Adjust positions and controls of cameras, and related equipment in order to change focus, exposure, and lighting.
Compose and frame each shot, applying technical aspects of light, lenses, film, filters, and camera settings in order to achieve the effects sought by directors.
Observe sets or locations for potential problems and to determine filming and lighting requirements.
Operate television or motion picture cameras to record scenes for television broadcasts, advertising, or motion pictures.
Select and assemble cameras, handhelds, pedestals and/or jibs.
Test, clean, and maintain equipment to ensure proper working conditions.
Other duties as assigned.
***Experience with both ped and handheld preferred***
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates or Bachelors Degree in Broadcasting or Communications preferred.
3 years of experience preferred.
Arm-hand steadiness and near/far visualization.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems timely.
Ability to work in an individual or team environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.

You Must have experience in High Quality Video and Sound. You will work with a producer who will give you a shot list and tell you exactly what we need. You must be organized and efficient.
MUST have your own camera HD, HDV ONLY NO DV.
We will setup an interview with a family in your area and you will go to the home on the scheduled date to shoot for approximately 2 to 3 hrs. During that time our producer will walk you through each and every shot you need to get.
