As the principal on-air Host/Producer for News 88.9 KNPR's weekday public affairs magazine KNPR's State of Nevada he/she will bring a seasoned and engaging personality to the program. The Host needs to be able to absorb significant amounts of background research quickly for the daily demands of a news-based program, and demonstrate a lively interest in diverse areas from hard news, to the arts, lifestyle and history topics.

Minimum:
• 3-5 years experience as a working journalist, 2 years broadcast experience in radio or television
• Articulate, engaging and authoritative on-air presence
• Undergraduate degree in journalism or closely related field.
• Strong on-air hosting and interviewing skills, superior verbal agility, engaging and seasoned on air presence
• Standard computer competencies with office and productivity software
Desirable:
• In-depth knowledge of Southern Nevada issues, politics, economics and culture.
• Digital audio production skills, online media/web production skills, newsroom management experience
• Masters level education or equivalent professional experience
This position Reports to: Executive Producer of KNPR’s State of Nevada
This position has no direct supervisory responsibility.
