58-WCHS Radio, the Voice of Charleston, is looking for the next addition to our award winning news department. We're hiring a new Afternoon & Evening Anchor-Reporter for our Charleston, WV office.
JOB DETAILS
The work day for the person in this position begins in the afternoon or as news coverage warrants as determined by the news managers.
The Afternoon & Evening Anchor-Reporter is responsible for late afternoon and evening newscasts, coverage of scheduled and breaking news events, preparations for The Morning News and regular website updates among many other things.
We're looking for someone who is self motivated, works well with others and has a good attitude while being flexible and willing to adjust to changing news demands. You must be able to work on tight deadlines.
This job will require you to travel in the Kanawha Valley on a regular basis. Sometimes, you will have to travel to other parts of West Virginia. You must have reliable transportation.
Weekend hours are also a regular part of this job.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have a degree in journalism, broadcasting, communications or a related field. Some on air reporting and computer experience is recommended as well. This is a news position, not a sports position.
