POSITION OVERVIEW
News 6 photojournalists are engaging visual storytellers and self-starters who are productive in shooting and editing the news, whether they are working solo or with a teammate. Teamwork and people skills are of equal importance to advanced technical skill and the drive to win the days news coverage.
RESPONSIBILITIES
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Prior years of professional news photography experience, showcasing exceptional non-linear editing, lighting, and production skills.
Proficient in both traditional news-gathering cameras as well as mirrorless and emerging audio-visual technologies and multi-device shoots.
Proficient in live technology, including LiveU or TVU backpacks and apps, and Starlink satellite systems.
Expert in digital editing and basic graphics, in particular Adobe Premier Pro and other Adobe products.
A collaborative attitude and excellent communication skills to work effectively with management, colleagues, and community members
Execute innovative visual storytelling, with a preference for NPPA-style reporting.
Strong news judgement and an exceptional problem solver for when things inevitably dont go as expected.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of gear and shoulder an ENG camera for extended periods.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, as well as be on-call for breaking news and travel for assignments.
A valid drivers license and a clean driving record.
