Prior Automotive Products is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Shipping and Production Specialist to support our operations.
This role will play a critical part in ensuring timely and efficient shipping, production, and inventory processes while maintaining high standards of quality and organization. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is eager to collaborate with management, and is committed to the growth of a US-based re-manufacturing organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Learn and execute shipping and receiving processes, including the use of UPS Worldship for outbound shipments.
Schedule inbound and outbound freight, ensuring alignment with lead times to meet purchase order deadlines.
Maximize fill rates for purchase orders through proactive coordination and inventory management.
Handle purchasing tasks to support production needs, including sourcing materials and managing vendor relationships.
Create and track weekly production assignments to ensure efficient workflow and on-time delivery.
Maintain plant organization and cleanliness, adhering to safety and operational standards.
Collaborate with management to align on production goals, quality control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Learn and utilize the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system for streamlined communication with customers and suppliers.
Assist with cataloging, technical service, and customer service as needed, ensuring accurate documentation and responsive support.
Support core management processes, including tracking and organizing core returns to optimize core credit workflows.
Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree in logistics, business, or a related field is a plus.
1-2 years of experience in shipping, production, or a related role (preferred but not required; were willing to train the right candidate).
Familiarity with shipping software (e.g., UPS Worldship) and EDI systems is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Proactive and industrial mindset, with a commitment to meeting deadlines and solving challenges in a dynamic environment.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude, with a willingness to work closely with management and cross-functional teams.
Basic understanding of purchasing and inventory management principles; experience in the automotive aftermarket industry is a bonus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
