Job Elements & Position Responsibilities
We have an exciting position open in Midland, Michigan. The Production Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Manager, and will be based on-site at the Midland production site. This role is accountable for entire shift results related to safety, production outcomes/efficiencies, processing, adherence to relevant procedures, quality, continuous improvement initiatives, and personnel activities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Supervises personnel and coordinates shift efforts focusing on:
- Safety
- Production deadlines
- Productivity outcomes in Molding & Secondary including Quality
- Prioritization of all shift activities
- Training coordination
- Operator scheduling, including rotation/breaks
- Operations/Shift reporting of key KPI's
- Responsible for SAP related activities associated with the role
- Provide appropriate leadership and successful individualized communication.
- Provide effective and timely resolution to shift personnel issues.
- Manages all performance, disciplinary, training, coaching of the hourly employees on the shift.
- Lead role for crew related to priorities, challenges, conflicts, continuous improvement activities, and efficiencies investigations/outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- -Education
- High School diploma required
- College degree preferred
- -Experience:
- Minimum 3 years molding experience related to materials processing and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of warehouse/production systems, such as SAP, for key metric awareness/analysis
- Experience with formal quality systems, such as ISO or QS.
- Formal supervisory experience in manufacturing setting preferred.
- -Skills
- Demonstrated leadership abilities within a manufacturing, fast paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Strong conflict resolution and independent reasoning skills
- Technical aptitude
- Basic math skills, add, subtract, multiply, divide, and percentages.
- Basic computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve complex molding and equipment technical issues a plus.
- Experience with thermoset materials preferred.
