The expected salary range for this role on hire is $74,507 to $116,527.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Montgomery County Council is seeking an Audiovisual Specialist for video production, graphic design and social media, and is looking for someone who is engaged and interested in subject matter related to Montgomery County, Maryland.

What You'll Be Doing

This is professional media work in the Council's Communication Office designing, producing and publicizing public policy information in digital, graphic, video and printed formats.

Producing video packages of stories with community members and Councilmembers.

Working with internal and external teams under tight deadlines to produce quality video packages that will be transmitted through broadcast and digital media.

Creating television segments and social media posts used to educate the public about the missions, operations, policies, programs, services and messages of the legislative branch of Montgomery County for dissemination to the public or County employees.

Designing and producing informational graphics for the public in digital, video and printed formats.

Interpreting public policy issues into easily understandable graphic formats.

Producing social media posts and creating graphic designs for social media campaigns, television productions and community outreach activities.

Designing and editing content in multiple languages using County-provided translation assistance for video segments and social media posts.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience in audio-video television production is required.

Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Television, Communications and Media Productions, Graphic Design or related field.

Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Preferred Criteria, Interview Preferences

All Applicants will be reviewed by the Office of Human Resources (OHR) for minimum qualifications. Those applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be rated Qualified, placed on the Referred List, and may be considered for an interview.

Preference for interviews will be given to applicants with experience in the following:

Video Production: candidates should have a proven track record in producing high-quality video content, including experience with editing software and storytelling techniques.

Graphic Design: applicants must demonstrate strong skills in creating visually appealing designs using industry-standard tools, with a portfolio showcasing diverse design projects.

Social Media: ideal candidates will have experience managing social media accounts, developing strategies to increase engagement, and analyzing performance metrics.

Design and Production of Digital Print and Video Information: preference will be given to those who can seamlessly integrate digital and print media, with a portfolio that includes both graphic design and video and photography production samples.

Content Creation for Diverse Cultures: candidates should show experience in crafting content that resonates with various cultural backgrounds, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and inclusivity.

Community Engagement: ideal applicants will have a background in fostering community relationships and creating programs that effectively connect with diverse audiences.

Applicants may be required to provide a writing sample and/or share their portfolio.
