Web Producer/Assignment Desk

KAKE, the ABC affiliate in Wichita, Kansas, is looking for an aggressive, highly motivated and skilled Web Producer/Assignment Desk candidate to join our award-winning staff. We are seeking a journalist with great work ethic.

DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS:

• Must be able to perform duties on all digital platforms, from website publishing to all of KAKE's social media accounts
• Must have strong writing ability and outstanding organizational & communication skills
• We want people with winning attitudes and people who want the best in each and every article and post
• We are looking for a self-starter who can present a balanced news product
• Must be creative, open to ideas, and make our digital elements as strong as they can be
• Ability to generate story ideas and write original content
• Ability to positively interact with the public through viewer phone calls
• Redirect reporter and/or photographers to breaking news coverage

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree in journalism, mass communications or equivalent experience
• One year of newsroom experience is preferred
