CW39KIAH is a hyperlocal television station in Houston, and were looking for a Reporter / Multimedia Journalist to join our newsroom.

Were seeking a strong communicator and selfstarter who thrives on multiplatform storytelling and is passionate about producing original, unique content told in nontraditional ways.
This role is ideal for a journalist who takes initiative, thinks creatively, and understands how to shape stories differently for broadcast, digital, streaming, and social audiences.

What Youll Do
- Create original, enterprise stories for multiple platforms, including broadcast, digital, and social
- Pitch and develop story ideas that reflect Houstons diverse communities and perspectives
- Operate as a selfstarter, owning stories from concept through execution
- Write, shoot, edit, and present content across platforms
- Communicate clearly with producers and newsroom managers on story direction and goals
- Experiment with creative, nontraditional storytelling approaches to better engage audiences
- Ensure all content meets editorial standards and journalistic integrity guidelines
- Contribute to digital and social coverage, including audience engagement
What Were Looking For
- Bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field
- At least three years of onair reporting experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Confident onair presence with the ability to adlib when needed
- Selfstarter who consistently generates original, multiplatform story ideas
- Passion for creative, innovative, nontraditional storytelling
- Ability to manage deadlines and multiple projects
- Valid drivers license with a good driving record
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, nights, and weekends
