CW39KIAH is a hyperlocal television station in Houston, and were looking for a Reporter / Multimedia Journalist to join our newsroom.

Were seeking a strong communicator and selfstarter who thrives on multiplatform storytelling and is passionate about producing original, unique content told in nontraditional ways.

This role is ideal for a journalist who takes initiative, thinks creatively, and understands how to shape stories differently for broadcast, digital, streaming, and social audiences.

• What Youll Do

• Create original, enterprise stories for multiple platforms, including broadcast, digital, and social
• Pitch and develop story ideas that reflect Houstons diverse communities and perspectives
• Operate as a selfstarter, owning stories from concept through execution
• Write, shoot, edit, and present content across platforms
• Communicate clearly with producers and newsroom managers on story direction and goals
• Experiment with creative, nontraditional storytelling approaches to better engage audiences
• Ensure all content meets editorial standards and journalistic integrity guidelines
• Contribute to digital and social coverage, including audience engagement

• What Were Looking For

• Bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field
• At least three years of onair reporting experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Confident onair presence with the ability to adlib when needed
• Selfstarter who consistently generates original, multiplatform story ideas
• Passion for creative, innovative, nontraditional storytelling
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple projects
• Valid drivers license with a good driving record
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, nights, and weekends
