Camera Operator / Videographer - Tradeshow Podcast Booth

Location: SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference (Georgia World Congress Center)

Rate: $400 / Day (Travel & lodging not included)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Camera Operator / Videographer to run a multi-camera video podcast setup on the floor of a live tradeshow. This role focuses on capturing clean, consistent, and fully synced footage for post-production editing.

You will be responsible for operating a 3-camera interview setup along with professional audio capture, ensuring all footage is properly recorded and organized for a seamless editing workflow.

Responsibilities

Multi-Camera Recording

Set up and operate a 3-camera system (Interviewer, Interviewee, Wide)

Record all cameras independently (ISO recording) for post-production

Maintain consistent framing, exposure, and color across all cameras

Ensure all cameras remain recording throughout each session

Audio Capture

Provide and manage 2 wireless lavalier microphones

Capture clean, intelligible dialogue in a loud tradeshow environment

Monitor audio live using headphones

Implement audio backup recording when possible

Sync & Post-Production Readiness

Ensure footage is easily synced in post (timecode or scratch audio required)

Avoid mismatched settings (frame rate, resolution, color profiles)

Maintain consistent camera settings across all recordings

Lighting & Setup

Deploy a compact lighting setup as needed for consistent subject lighting

Adapt to changing lighting conditions on the show floor

Podcast Booth Operation

Maintain consistent shot composition across all interviews

Reset quickly between sessions

Coordinate with host/interviewer to ensure smooth recordings

Environment & Safety

Operate within a busy tradeshow environment

Keep equipment footprint clean and safe for public interaction

Media Management

Offload and organize footage daily

Label files clearly by guest/session

Deliver all media at end of each day

Qualifications

Experience with multi-camera interview or podcast production

Strong understanding of audio capture in noisy environments

Ability to ensure clean, reliable recordings for post-production workflows

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Comfortable working independently in a live event setting

Gear Requirements

3 professional cameras (matching or similar preferred)

Tripods for all cameras

2 wireless lavalier microphones

Audio monitoring headphones

Media storage for full-day recording

Basic lighting kit (portable LED preferred)

Preferred Experience

Podcast or interview-style production

Tradeshow or live event filming

Experience delivering footage for multi-cam editing workflows
