Newscast Director

KECI is hiring a Newscast Director! KECI is looking for a creative, fast-thinking Weekend Newscast Director to lead live productions from the heart of our newsroom. If you thrive in the control room, love the pace of live television, and can turn fast-moving moments into clean, compelling storytelling, this is your role. This is a hands-on leadership position where you dont just call a show, you help shape it. From pacing and visuals to crew coordination and real-time decision-making, youll play a key role in how our community experiences the news every weekend. Youll work alongside a dedicated team in a fast-moving, high-pressure environment where no two shows are the same, and every second matters.

Responsibilities:

Perform any production duties as assigned including:

• Direct and TD any assigned newscasts and productions
• Train production crew in cameras, audio, graphics, etc.
• Supervise production crew on a daily basis
• Maintain production studio and control room
• Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned, which may include website contribution

Requirements:

• Experience Directing and TDing newscasts a plus
• Knowledge of production standards and equipment
• Full working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to clearly give direction to crew while under pressure
• Typing and good spelling skills necessary
• Ability to read and write, college degree preferred
• Must be able to lift & position 40 pound lighting instruments
