Weekend Reporter/Fill-In Anchor, KABC-TV

ABC7 Los Angeles is seeking a dynamic and motivated WeekendReporter/Fill-in Anchor to join the Eyewitness News team. We are looking forsomeone dedicated to taking us to the next level on all platforms in one of themost competitive news markets in the country. You are an exceptional reporterwith extensive experience as an anchor. The successful candidate will have ademonstrated track record of success both on-air and behind-the-scenes as anewsroom leader and contributor. You are on the front lines in the field as alead reporter and you can switch into filling in on the anchor desk on anyshift. You uphold the integrity of the station at all times.

This role is considered on-site, which means the employeewill work from a Company designated location on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities :

• Exceptional reporting, writing and interviewing skills
• Fill in for anchors on a variety of shifts
• Expertly handle live breaking news on the anchor desk and in the field
• Active use of social media for promotion and news gathering
• Collaborate with producers and managers before, during and after shows, always looking for ways to improve, evolve and innovate storytelling from the studio or field
• Create unique and shareable stories for television, digital, social and streaming
• Participate in community and station public events

Basic Qualifications :

• Multiple market experience (including anchoring in top market)
• Must be a strong journalist and storyteller
• Know how to present active and engaging live shots
• Must work well under deadline pressure
• Must have schedule flexibility and ability to work holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience as investigative journalist
• Ability to shoot, edit and publish
• Experience with Adobe Premiere and/or Dalet One-Cut
• Bilingual

Required Education:

• Bachelors degree

The hiring range for this SAG-AFTRA role in Glendale, CA is $120,000 to$145,000 per year. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on thecandidates geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experienceamong other factors. The role also has potential for additional compensationfor overtime and early morning/overnight shifts.
