Looking to join a team dedicated todelivering independent and trusted journalism? Maine Public is seeking afull-time reporter in Bangor, Maine!

Focusing on story issues and themes thatextend northward into more rural parts of the state as well as Bangor Metro andDown East, the Bangor Correspondent provides high-quality content with a professionalon-air delivery, as well as writes quickly and communicates clearly withindaily deadlines for radio, web, and video. This position reports news items andprogram segments, pitches daily story ideas, voices and produces multi-mediastories. Additionally, the Bangor Correspondent develops sources and beats,regularly engages with the public, and must have the ability to react to,produce and post breaking news across the 24-hour news cycle, includingevenings, weekends, overnights and early mornings.

With NPR, PBS, and other partners we striveto be the standard bearer for high-integrity journalism and programming. Thesuccessful candidate must thrive in a professional and dynamic environment,work well both in a team environment and independently, and demonstrate a loveof public broadcasting.

Job Requirements: At least 2years' experience as a journalist, public media experience preferred.Bachelors degree in journalism or related field preferred, or equivalentcombination of education and experience. Radio news production preferred,television experience helpful but not necessary . Excellentverbal and written communication skills required. Ability to establish andmaintain effective working relationships with all departments, employees,professional organizations, and vendors. Regular travel throughout thestate and a valid drivers license is required.
