Location: OH-Dayton Job Title: Morning Executive Producer - WHIO TV Position Overview WHIO-TV Dayton, the #1 CBS affiliate in the Nation, has an immediate opening for a Morning Executive Producer to elevate our newscasts to the next level. The EP will manage a team of producers, anchors, meteorologists, reporters, and photographers to create dynamic newscasts. You will lead the team to produce compelling newscasts, manage story count, flow, and showcasing while executing researched news strategies. We are looking for an experienced producer who knows how to break the template to executive effective storytelling. This is a hands-on management position. You will be diving into scripts, writing breaking news, and dispatching crews as needed. The successful candidate will be a highly organized planner who excels at managing the unexpected. Essential Duties and Responsibilities -Oversee daily newscast execution including leading breaking news coverage - Manage morning team of anchors, meteorologists, reporters, photographers, and producers - Manage story count and placement Ensure quality control of newscasts by copy editing stories and video review - Set the coverage expectation through meetings with producers and conducting newscast critiques - Manage repetition within newscasts Enforce branding implementation Hold producers accountable on story selection and newscast elements - Manage response and execution to breaking news Monitor control room execution - Lead digital effort to engage viewers as they wake up and look at their phones first - Execute live-streaming strategy to encourage viewership on mobile and on other digital platforms - Work closely with talent on social posts to encourage viewership of the newscast - Innovate to match research as viewing behavior changes - Craft newscast look by working with the Creative Services Department - Manage schedules, goal setting, and employee relations with assistance of fellow managers - Produce when needed - Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications -2 or more years of newsroom experience preferred -Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communication or related field of study -Excellent communication, organization, judgement and writing skills -Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions -Must be thoroughly professional in all aspects of journalism -Must be well read on current events and have a wide-range working knowledge and understanding of general interest subjects About Cox Media Group CMG Media Corporation (d/b/a Cox Media Group) is an industry-leading media company with unparalleled brands, award-winning content, and exceptional team members.
