This role supports the event planning and operations teams by ensuring reliable and high-quality AV services in the unit's event spaces.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Configure, operate and maintain all audio-visual equipment including projectors, displays, sound systems, microphones, cameras and video conference tools.
  • Schedules delivery, set up and removal of any required equipment in event spaces as specified by the clients.
  • Ensures any damaged or malfunctioning equipment is documented and the manager notified.
  • May perform minor preventative repairs and cleaning of equipment.
  • Ensures AC equipment is stored safely and inventoried accurately.
  • Communicates with planners, operations team and clients to ensure reserved equipment is working and available.
  • Set-up AV equipment according to reservation.
  • Address any issues as they arise and escalate if necessary.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, equipment or connectivity issues quickly.
  • Support client needs regarding any technical equipment required.
  • May interview, hire, schedule and train student workers.
  • Create and maintain detailed Standard Operating Procedures and how-to guides for all AV equipment.
  • May be 'on-call' for urgent AV as they arise.
  • Uses Caterease software program to review client requests.
  • Attend weekly operations meetings to ensure fluidity and communicates necessary information to planners, operations and clients.
  • Attend client meetings and walk-throughs as scheduled.
  • Communicates and collaborates with outside vendors, as needed.
  • Communicate new systems or equipment needs with leadership.
  • Ensure functionality and reliability of equipment.
  • Work with stakeholders including vendors, contractors and IT staff on system integrations and improvements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge in operation, maintenance, and repair of state-of-the-art multi-media instructional equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to transport/move a minimum of 50lbs.
