ResponsibilitiesServes as part of The Florida Chanel Interstitial Programming and Promotions Unit under the supervision of the Supervisor of Interstitial Programming; travels to various locations around the state to conduct interviews, shot B-roll, log, write and edit stories related to TFC programming; responsibilities primarily include videography and editing duties for the unit as well as backup videographer for new production; willing to travel, works on deadline, under minimal supervision and with a team in the delivery of programming which serves the mission of TFC; communicates extensively and proactively with supervisor, team and other TFC staff to understand needs and create the best possible product. Responsible for communication with Supervisor regularly about training needs, if any, coordinating with respective trainer(s) and giving status updates on tasks.
Serves as robotics camera director: responsible for operation of robotic cameras, switching appropriate shots for air, coordinating with MCR/Feeds and maintaining a professional on-air look during those productions; in addition, also serves in various daily production roles, each requiring proactivity and limited supervision, such as but not limited to: show director, technical/switcher director, audio operator, floor director and teleprompter operation, set changeover, studio microphone use, studio lighting operations and other equipment for various productions. Additional responsibilities include knowledge and operation of various equipment required to perform each task.
Serves as backup Remote Events Crew member on dispatched shoots with duties including equipment setup, camera operation and equipment breakdown as part of The Florida Channel's efforts of television coverage of various state government meetings throughout Florida. Travel is part of the job. Administrative responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to timely submission of travel documentation, travel and purchasing card receipts, personal work records, etc.
Qualifications- Associate degree in a related area and three years of related work experience in a broadcast television environment (or vocational/technical training in a related area and three years of related work experience in a broadcast television environment).
- A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver license or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, to include: sitting and/or standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, dexterity, etc.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience operating and setting up/breaking down related equipment and software used for field and studio production, to include cameras, switchers, lights, microphones, non-linear editing equipment, audio equipment, computer-assisted graphics technologies/software and related equipment.
- Must be able to prioritize, multi-task, troubleshoot, communicate effectively, adapt to change, work in a fast-paced environment and carry out assignments and meet deadlines with limited supervision.
- Ability to work as part of a team in close proximity to others.

ConsiderationsThis is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check .
Anticipated schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm; however, hours will vary and may include weekends and evenings during legislative sessions, committee weeks, Capitol Complex and remote event productions. At times, day trips and overnight travel around the state of Florida will be required. Hours will vary depending on department needs and may include weekends and evenings.
