You'll produce daily content, coordinate newsroom collaboration, and help drive audience engagement on our streaming platforms.
Responsibilities:
Manage the full production cycle of daily streaming content during a consistent weekday shift
Oversee the scheduling and programming of the KREM 2+ streaming lineup, curating and publishing timely content from our newsroom and partner TEGNA stations
Monitor breaking news, weather, and live events, quickly responding with updated content and promotional assets that keep viewers informed and engaged
Proactively plan and coordinate by working closely with producers, reporters, and photojournalists to identify streaming opportunities and manage timelines for video shoots, edits, and publishing
Produce digital-first stories, repackage existing content, and repurpose franchise segments or evergreen features into compelling streaming offerings
Act as the streaming liaison in the newsroom and be a key voice in editorial meetings to help cultivate a content strategy that reflects both the newsroom's priorities and audience interests
Support the ongoing promotion and visibility of streaming content across the KREM app, social platforms, and newscasts by producing promotional content and contributing to weekly and monthly planning materials
Monitor video analytics and audience data to inform your decisions, ensuring the streaming channel is dynamic, relevant, and growing
Requirements:
A minimum of two years of experience in digital video production, broadcast journalism, or a related content creation role
A strong editorial sense with a keen understanding of what resonates with both local and digital audiences
Experience using video editing software
Familiarity with newsroom systems such as scripting systems and CMSs.
Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to work efficiently under deadline pressure
The ability to work collaboratively with exceptional attention to detail and enthusiasm about the evolving landscape of streaming media and digital storytelling.
Additional experience working with OTT or streaming platforms is a plus, especially if you've used audience analytics to shape content strategies
Familiarity with digital content trends, SEO, and viewer behavior on platforms like Roku and Amazon Fire TV
A creative mindset, curiosity about emerging formats, and a passion for delivering local news in innovative ways
Pay Range
$41,000$45,000 USD
