Production Associate (Crating/Packing)

Who You Are:

The Ideal candidate will have 1+ year(s) manufacturing experience. Glass industry experience a plus.

What You Will Be Doing:

As a Production Associate, you will be responsible for assembling wooden crates and loading glass into them/preparing glass for shipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):

  • Measures finished product or parts and fabricates wooden crate/container in the appropriate manner for shipment.
  • Builds wooden crate around the product or fabricates the container and places product within.
  • Proper use of woodworking equipment, hand and power tools involved in fabricating custom shipping containersincluding a nail gun and chop saw.
  • Pack, skid, band, brace, cover, and weigh parts and/or the fabricated container as required.
  • Daily inspections Look for any unsafe objects, check equipment, etc.
  • Inspects product for any abnormalities, cracks, chips, etc. and notifies supervisor immediately of any issues.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Skills You Bring :

MINIMUM SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS include the following:

  • The ability to lift 75 lbs. by yourself, 150 in tandem.
  • The ability to accurately read a tape measure.
  • The ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • The ability to communicate, and to work as part of a team.
  • The ability to work in high heat manufacturing facility.
  • Working knowledge of plant operations, computers, hoists, and lifts preferred.
  • Glass industry experience is a plus.
  • Woodworking/carpentry skills are a plus.
  • Regular and predictable attendance, safe performance of tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of the job.
