Student Worker - Videographer Marketing and Communications

Purpose/Objective of the Role:
This student will support Ohio Wesleyan University’s Marketing & Communications team by developing and producing video content that tells the OWU story. The intern will capture and edit videos for use in social media, and admission marketing, helping prospective students, alumni, and the wider community connect with the university.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Film high-quality, compelling video stories featuring OWU students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
- Edit short-form and long-form video content for social media, web, and promotional use.
- Help manage OWU’s YouTube content.
- Brainstorm creative content ideas in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications team.
- Stay attuned to video and social media trends to suggest fresh approaches.
- Assist with video needs at special events
Qualifications/Skills:
- Interest in video production, digital media, or storytelling.
- Experience with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or similar).
- Understanding of camera operation, lighting, and audio (training provided if needed).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple projects.
- Creativity, curiosity, and an eye for capturing authentic, engaging moments.
- Good communication skills and willingness to work collaboratively.
- Proven ability to manage multiple short-term and long-term projects, prioritize, and turn around video projects quickly
- to meet deadlines, while producing high-quality, compelling videos.
- Proven ability, and perform well on deadline as well as on long-term projects.
