Position Overview

WFXT has an immediate opening for a Production Technician. The successful candidate's duties will revolve around Broadcast Operations in a fast-paced Live News environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties will involve directing newscast using automation, directing talent in the studio, operating prompter as needed, and operating audio during newscasts.

Minimum Qualifications

Previous experience in a Broadcast environment, ideally in an operational role.
Great attitude and proven ability to work well in a team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while being able to handle last minute changes in breaking news scenarios.
Willingness and flexibility to assist in whatever role and/or shift is needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience Directing a newscast and handling all coordination that comes with live news, such as, organizing and incorporating a wide mix of broadcast components (satellite feeds, interviews, breaking news, server playback, advanced graphics systems, etc.) into each program
Familiarity with Control Room Automation. Ross Overdrive or Sony ELC a plus
Experience with iNews or comparable Newsroom systems
Familiarity with Chyron or similar Graphics systems
Familiarity with Prompting systems
Experience with Robotic Cameras
Familiarity with different Audio Boards
