DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Membership team, part of GBHs Development division, enables the GBH Educational Foundation to fulfill its public media mission by raising contributions from individuals for TV, radio, and digital programming, as well as for special projects at GBH, the Cape & Islands Radio Station (CAI), and New England Public Media (NEPM).
Membership oversees direct response fundraising and member engagement, which provide GBH with the resources to pursue its mission. The team collaborates closely with the Contributor Development Partnership (CDP), which supports GBH, CAI, and NEPM members and viewers nationwide.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Associate Producer reports to the Senior Fundraising Producer and is an integral part of the Membership team. The job requires fundraising and/or marketing experience and a familiarity with television production. Candidates must have a skill set that supports being able to write concise, compelling on-air fundraising messages, and have a creative spirit to develop effective spots for TV and radio. Candidates must also be able to meet critical deadlines, proofread accurately and work closely with varying stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the Senior Fundraising Producer to select and schedule programs for pledge production
Work with Senior Fundraising Producer to select and schedule on-camera hosts
Make sure all necessary assets and resources for pledge production are acquired, compiled and delivered to meet production timelines
Research, plan and write successful TV pledge break scripts
Plan, write, voice, and produce fundraising spots for video (TV and digital) and radio
Serve as Producer for pre-recorded and live video production as needed
Collaborate with GBH Creative Team to create video graphics and assets for fundraising across platforms
Support on-air hosts through acquiring, preparing and distributing information and materials needed to present coherent, successful fundraising messaging
Compile Match and Challenge results
Research, plan and write TV pledge break scripts incorporating fundraising messaging and spots
Provide Radio pledge fundraising support as needed
SKILL SET
Excellent multi-platform writing and content creation skills
Strong professional communication and a collaborative team mindset
Proven ability to manage overlapping deadlines with exceptional attention to detail
Creative, self-motivated, and eager to learn new skills
Solid understanding of the TV/video production process
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required.
2-3 years of relevant experience, with at least 1 year working in a public or commercial television station or video production house
Fundraising experience a plus
