Assignment Editor Jobs in Gallatin, TN

An Assignment Editor in the broadcasting industry serves as the primary point of contact for news, stories, and events that the news station covers. They are tasked with deciding what stories are of interest to the audience, assigning reporters and photographers to cover those stories, and ensuring that all assignments are completed on time. They also manage the logistical aspects such as coordinating with other departments, making travel arrangements, and handling other administrative duties. They play a vital role in the newsroom, often juggling multiple tasks at once and making quick decisions under pressure.

Prior to becoming an Assignment Editor, a person may have roles such as a News Reporter, News Producer, or News Photographer.
